Congratulations to Sergeant Jorge Ramos for receiving Supervisor of the Year for HISD Police.

Sergeant Jorge A. Ramos began his law enforcement career in 2014 where after completing the police academy with HCC Northeast campus, he was hired on with Harris County Constables Office Precinct 5. While there, Sergeant Ramos was assigned to the Toll Road Traffic Enforcement division where he worked night shift.

 Sergeant Ramos made the transition to HISD team in 2015 where his first assignment was Key Middle School and worked there for 2.5 years. While there, Sergeant Ramos built many relationships with school administration as well as students in need with low-income backgrounds. Sergeant Ramos made the transition to Dayshift Patrol and became part of the Emergency Response Team where he attended SWAT School as well as other tactical courses. During his tenure on dayshift patrol, Sergeant Ramos became a Field Training Officer (FTO), obtained his certifications in ALERT I, ALERT II, SBLE (Active Shooter train the trainer), CPR and Safety Range Officer (SRO).

Sergeant Ramos currently holds his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish and has his Advanced Peace officer certification.
